One Summer Day
I only learnt how to paint late last year through Kate Liu's Chasing Mood in Environment Paintings at Warrior Art Camp.
Painting has taught me how to simplify the complexities in a scene, group values and compose a shot. It has made me feel a bit more courageous with colors to chase a mood and capture the light. I believe what I have learnt in painting can translate well in motion design.
Here's a scene from a street in Tokyo from an online reference. I hope to give it a Miyazaki-esque feeling, bright and youthful while incorporating colors which are not as literal to achieve color harmony.
